Unit 316 - Room with a View!

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Islander - Unit 316 in Destin! The property is safe, well maintained, and very family friendly. Unit 316 has a beautiful view, great for sipping coffee in the morning, or watching the sunset in the evening. The beach is currently under construction, which should be complete by the end of May, but that didn't distract from the fun we had there. We enjoyed all the resort amenities including pickleball, basketball, pools, hot tub and hosted family events. Thanks, we will be back!

Dishwasher did not work and freezer would not open

"A lot of things did not work. Dishwasher, back door lock and the freezer door. The power went out and the TV did not work for most of the day. I reported the issues to the front desk and maintenance addressed most of the issues. Overall, it was OK.

"We say at the Islander for many of our beach trips. The location is perfect!
The closet door in the guest room was broken, but couldn’t use the closet bc of the bunks so it didn’t make a difference. Will def stay there again!

"The condo is very nice - love the location. The view was very relaxing. The only thing that did not work is the ceiling fan in the living room. Everything else was great. I would definitely stay there again.

"Our stay was good. Did have some problems with the dishwasher and garbage but garbage disposal was fixed promptly and the dishwasher could have the detergent left for us to use but the dishes did not clean and I had to do them by hand. Also it would have been nice to have at least had salt and pepper there.

"This is my 3th time staying at the Islander and it is always well-kept, spacious, and practical. 316 is just as good as the other units where I have stayed, even though the cost is lower. The view is not as good from this side, but exactly as advertised.

September Islander stay

"The staff at the Islander are always terrific, thank you. The reservation process is a breeze! I've been coming to the Islander for over 20 years now and love the location and experience. This year, I was a little dissapointed at some of the cleanliness issues. The elevators were having issues and some of the areas around the grounds were not as clean and organized as they have historically been. I was especially dissapointed at all the smoking in and around the facility since it is a non-smoking facility. The condo, hallways, elevators, and even beach had smokers and smoke everywhere. It would be nice if we could truly have a non-smoking section of chairs at the beach that was upwind from the smokers that way the smoke didn't waft towards those of us that prefer no smoke. I'll be back, but hope that the cleanliness and smoke issues are worked on for the future.

"Lots of amenities at this resort including 2 pools/hot tubs, basketball court, shuffle board, tennis court, and even live music at the pool on our last night! The 24 hour front desk was wonderful and has lots of extras if needed. Also, the 2 beach chairs were a very nice addition as well

"We really enjoyed our stay at the islander. It’s everything we wanted in a stay for our family vacation. If I had to give one piece of advise is I think it’s time to replace the mattress in the sleeper sofa you can tell it’s worn out but other than that we really enjoyed it thank you.

"This was our third visit to The Islander. And our third rental room. Each time we have visited, we change rooms until we find one that fits our needs. Unit 316 was very clean, open concept, but no pantry. So, you are limited on avail cabinets. Lots of accessories too.
You are close to the stairs, which is good for us. Great view of the ocean and sunset.
The stay at The Islander is great! They take care of you with an amazing customer service. Very clean property and kid friendly!

"The resort location and room are great. Close walk to the beautiful white sand beach. Loved having 2 pools to choose from Incase one was busy. We will definitely be back. This unit is perfect for a family, we have teenagers and it was great having the extra bed for an extra friend.

Perfect 316

"The property and our room was exceptionally clean. Every knife was turned in the same direction for all of the OCD people out there. Our unit had a crockpot which made dinner easy for a long day at the beach. The beds in our unit slept great. Even though there is not washer or dryer in our unit, the property has an excellent laundry mat that is clean and convenient. The pictures make the walk to the beach so far away but it is really close with the pools in a perfect location. The beach feels very secluded even being so close the the piers. I love that McDonald's and Chick Fil A is less than 2 minutes away if you are starving. Walmart is less than 5 miles for a quick stock on liquor and food. Even with all these close by, you still drive into seclusion surrounded by nice private million dollar beach homes. This is our hidden gem, but now you know how great it is.

"We enjoyed every day.{Dec.1-March-18, 2017} Condo is well up-dated, and very clean. We enjoyed the view and the sunsets were awesome! Comfortable beds are our #1 thing we look for, and we certainly weren't dissapointed! Also, a great kitchen is always welcome, when you spend so much time there. This kitchen has everything! Looking forward to our next winter, here, in November 2017. The staff is the best, and always ready to help.
