"We have stayed here for a decade now, I will say I did enjoy my trip but it was not like it has been in the past. Outside pool was left without toilet paper for a day, so you had to walk back to your room to use the restroom and with a parade of kids that is not always the easiest. Several times were broken in our condo when we arrived, it seemed as if there was not a final walk through before we got there. There was also mold in the shower, yuck. Other than that it was fine, this year was more rowdy than normal.

"We had a great time. The Islander has its own beach. The amenities include tennis/pickleball courts, two pools and hottubs. The units are clean and well appointed. The staff are wonderful. We love the Islander.

Beautiful condo

"Beautifully decorated and very nice new appliances. Clean, homey. Our only complaint is the master bedroom bed - it was so so hard and we slept really terribly on it. Our boys slept great on their beds in the other bedroom.

"We had a great week at the Islander. Our rooms were on the first floor and it was very convenient to walk a few steps to the pool, or take the beautifully landscaped path to the beach. The kitchen of our condo was well stocked. The rooms were tastefully appointed. We mentioned to the front desk that a light had burned out in the living room, and someone was at our door to replace it in a very short time. Love the easy, relaxing atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. And plenty of activities for the kids.

"We stayed at the Islander Resort in Destin, Florida for 18 wonderful days in February. We had a great time. Our Condo was fully equipped and the furniture was so comfy. The condo had a great king bed in the master bedroom, an awesome huge bathroom and a huge closet. the pools, hot tubs and the grounds were well taken care of and everything about the Islander was very nice and we are planning on making it our vacation destination every time we go to Florida.

"Overall, the stay was great, I mean you are on vacation. Having bunk beds in the spare bedroom was unexpected & NOT pictured in the photos of the room. There was ice left in the freezer & caused the fridge to smell like FISH. There was NOT a broom in the condo & we found a dirty plate behind the night stand in the master. The cleaning was NOT worth the $$$ you pay.

TOO MUCH LOUD MUSIC

"Have been staying here for 20 yrs or so. Always enjoy our stay. Can't wait til next yr. Something has to be done about loud music at grill area. for the past 3 yrs,Fri & Sat crowds take over and play music way to loud. couldn't hear ourselves talk Friday night. Please post signs under pavilion. if there is a sign about no loud music, then we have the right to call the front desk.

"Nice unit , but the couch needs replacing , has seen better days, no support had to put pillows on it to get up higher. Other than that a very nice unit. Enjoyed my first try with very friendly and patient pickle ball group, played almost every morning from 10-12. Got to meet a lot of friendly people from Michigan, Canada,Wisconsin,Minnesota,Iowa,Indiana,and North Dakota.

"I've visited the Islander 5 times in the last 10 years and I've always had a great experience. This time I was displeased with the Furniture in condo 114. It was dated and ALL mattresses were in poor condition and made for an uncomfortable sleep, including the sofa bed! Very uncomfortable mattresses! Everything else was wonderful, I just wouldn't recommend that unit number. Thanks for listening!

"Enjoyed our stay as usual. Every year we come back and notice The Islander is doing a little more to improve the grounds. Keep up the good work. Great value for being on the beach. My only suggestion, you need to monitor how many people are staying in the rooms. Some rooms were very noisy. Thanks, will be back next year.

Our winter stay at the Islander

"We have enjoyed staying at the Islander from Nov until Apr for the past seven years. We had some problems with our condo this year r/t leaking bathroom pipes in the condo above us. The guest bathroom ceiling was in poor shape and really an embarrassment when used by our guests. The tennis courts and pickle ball courts were in poor shape and these are 2 activities that we enjoy doing. There was a lot of construction going on for most of our stay.

"We could not have been more pleased with our vacation and our stay at the Islander was a key part of it. We used to stay at another location in Destin every year and I found this location when fishing the Rodeo in October. We haven't been back in several years so when we finally were making plans I remembered how much I enjoyed the accommodations at the Islander. This trip was wonderful! The staff was friendly, the pools were well kept and fantastic, and the beach access is top notch. We are already looking forward to our return next year. See you in 2019!!
