Destin Fishing Rodeo (All of October)
The Fishing Rodeo has been running since 1948 and is the signature event of Destin's year. It runs every single day throughout October, with daily weigh-ins behind AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar on the Harbor. The weigh-ins are free to watch, and genuinely impressive when a big catch comes in. This is Destin's identity, and fall is prime season. Offshore, the water clears as summer rains taper off, and species like amberjack, grouper, and king mackerel are highly active.
